PURPOSE:To maintain the specific focal length of the objective of a fiber scope at extremely low temperature by uniting a windowed casing material which has a recessed groove for engaging a convex objective and a lid which has a recessed groove for engaging the convex objective. CONSTITUTION:The depth of a groove is nearly equal to the height (h) of the convex objective and the width W is a little smaller than the width W'. The lid having the recessed groove is so constituted that h' is larger than or nearly equal to the height (h) of the convex objective. When the fiber scope is assembled, the convex objective is inserted into the windowed casing material 9 having the concave groove, the lid having the recessed groove is put thereupon, and they are soldered 10 in this state to unite them together.
