PURPOSE:To uniform the gap between a couple of substrates which constitute liquid crystal cell by injecting liquid crystal while the couple of substrates are pressed from outside so that a specific gap is obtained. CONSTITUTION:When the liquid crystal is injected into the liquid crystal cell 1, the glass substrates 2 and 3 of the liquid crystal cell 1 are pressed in parallel in a pressure reduction state from outside by applying a proper force to flat plate materials 7 and 8 which are a size larger than the part surrounded with a seal material 4. In this case, the gap between the two substrates 2 and 3 is held uniform by gap materials dispersed on the internal surface of the liquid crystal cell 1. The injection hole 6 of the liquid crystal cell 1 is dipped in liquid crystal 5 put in a liquid crystal container 9 as it is and then the liquid crystal cell 1 and liquid crystal container 9 are exposed to the atmosphere to inject the liquid crystal 5 into the liquid crystal cell 1 by utilizing the pressure difference between the pressure in the liquid crystal cell 1 and the atmospheric pressure. Thus, the liquid crystal 5 is injected and then the liquid crystal cell 1 is put away from the liquid crystal 5 in the liquid crystal container 9; and the injection hole 6 is sealed and the glass substrates 2 and 3 are released from being pressed by the plate materials 7 and 8.
