PURPOSE:To easily produce a working environment model by obtaining a solid model from the pictures formed through a stereo camera that projects the form and the environment of an object. CONSTITUTION:Two stereo cameras 2 are turned to parts 1 and the pictures obtained by both cameras are processed by a picture processor 3. These processed pictures are supplied to a computer 4 and displayed side by side on a CRT display 5. Then the same point of the parts 1 is extracted out of two sheets of pictures obtained by two cameras 2 by a tablet 6. Thus the com puter 4 calculates the distance between the cameras 2 and the parts 1 as well as the form of the parts 1 by the principle of triangulation, for production of a solid model. In such a way, a working environment model is easily obtained.
