<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively reduce the volume of excess sludge. SOLUTION: In the excess sludge treatment method, a raw material consisting of 40-99 pts.wt. of clay, 0-30 pts.wt. of diatomaceous earth, 1-30 pts.wt. of collected dust and 0-50 pts.wt. of sewage sludge incineration ash is granulated and baked to obtain an inorganic porous carrier with voids of 20-60% and, after microorganisms are bonded to the inorganic porous carrier, excess sludge originating from an activated sludge method is brought into contact with the inorganic porous carrier under an aerobic condition to reduce the volume of the excess sludge.</p> |
