<p>The panel or plate, pref. of sheet metal, to coated with mortar, plaster or other surface material, may be part of a building element or wall or partition cladding, or esp. of a hollow plinth in a wall above a doorway or window opening. It incorporates a series of spaced protrusions (11) with undercut anchoring surfaces for a rendering layer (13) to be applied to the plate surface. The protrusions may be nose-shaped pieces punched out from the plate (10), sited close by an adjacent opening (12) in it, and pref. sloping and partially overlapping the opening. A variant protrusion is a U-sectioned elongated channeled batten with lateral flanges, with its base fitted to the plate.</p> |
