<p>Extruded board profiles for resting between flanged girders to line a ceiling each has a lateral web wide enough to extend beneath the underside of the girder and part of the edge of the adjacent board. The depth of the web is slightly greater than the depth of a stepped face along the edge of the adjacent board, so that positive contact occurs between the upper face of the edge of the web and the underside of the stepped border of the adjacent board. The interference pressure seals the interface against circulation of air from the clearance necessary between the vertical edges of the adjacent boards, thus minimising thermal loss alongside or via the supporting beams. The boards are of a semi-rigid, elastic material, such as expanded polystyrene.</p> |
