PURPOSE:To provide stable communication with high sound quality while reducing communication errors by selecting a base station with large signal intensity by selecting the base station at an optimum position from a present position based on a base station position. CONSTITUTION:Based on the position information of the present station, an optimum base station selecting function part 32 retrieves the base station at the shortest distance from the present station by comparing that position with the position of a base station belonging to a communication entrepreneur selected from a base station position information storage device 33 so that the position information of the base station to be communicated or connected can be provided. The position information of the base station contains the latitude and longitude of the base station, and channel information utilized for identifying the base station or the like. Then, the optimum base station selecting function part 32 sends the position information of the retrieved and discovered optimum base station, namely, of the base station at the shortest distance from the present station to a base station retrieval circuit 30 inside a reception part 22, sets the channel of the optimum base station or the like and applies the instruction of reception.
