PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reproduce video data and audio data by recovering out of synchronism between video data and audio data stored in a PES packet form. SOLUTION: In the data reproduction device, on the occurrence of read mistake of video data, a time slump extract comparator circuit 17 calculates how many frames in the unit of video frames the video data are advanced from audio data and gives information of the calculated number of frames to a DMA controller 3 as a control signal. The DMA controller 3 puts back an address for reading the video data from a storage medium 1 by the calculated number of frames and read the same frame consecutively for a plurality of the number of times.
