MUD GUARD STRUCTURE IN SCOOTER TYPE VEHICLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mud guard structure for preventing muddy water or the like splashed by a rear wheel from impinging on an engine while decreasing the number of parts and reducing the assembling work man-hour in a scooter type vehicle in which a power unit is supported to rock up and down by a car body frame, and a storage box is disposed between the power unit and a seat disposed above it with an upper end opening part closed by the seat. SOLUTION: An intake system 57 including an air cleaner 60 and a connecting tube 61 connecting between carburetors is disposed between the engine and the storage box 39. A rising wall 61a provided integrally on the upper part of the connecting tube 61 and projected upward and a suspending wall 39a provided integrally on the lower part of the storage box 39 and suspended downward are disposed to overlap each other in the longitudinal direction so that a labyrinth 62 for preventing muddy water or the like splashed by the rear wheel from entering in a part ahead of the connecting tube 61 is formed between the rising wall 61a and the suspending wall 39a.
