The braking system with the identifying of the vehicle surroundings using a vehicle ambience identification unit (30), establishes a braking control intensification factor (K) depending on the identified vehicle surrounds. It establishes a desired value of a braking power, by correcting the driver braking intention using a correction of the braking control intensification factor (K), and controls a braking operating system (50), such that a braking power is produced, which corresponds to the desired value. The braking control system has a unit for determining the braking intention of the driver. An operating unit (50), applies a braking power at each wheel (1L,1R,2L,2R), on the basis of the detected intention of the driver. A vehicle ambience identification unit (30) detects the vehicle ambience, and a control unit (100), controls a relationship between th braking intension of the driver and the braking power of each wheel, depending on the information regarding the surroundings of the vehicle.
