PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a moving body position detector of a small size allowing detection even when the positions of a moving body are three or more. SOLUTION: This moving body position detector 10 for detecting the position of a moving body moving along a guide member is provided with a detection part 11 having a magnetism generating means 12 arranged in one side out of the guide member and the moving body to generate magnetism, and detection means 13, 14 for detecting a magnetic flux density of the generated magnetism, and a magnetic substance 15 arranged in the other side out of the guide member and the moving body to induce magnetism, and a processing means for processing output signals about the magnetic flux densities output from the respective detection means, and the magnetism generating means 12 and the detection means 13, 14 are arranged in the same side with respect to the magnetic substance 15.
