<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accomplish a variable display of a second variable display means so as to make the best of the results of the variable display at a first variable display means while sufficiently utilizing structural features. <P>SOLUTION: A variable display device is constituted of three reels 4L, 4C and 4R and an image display device 41. Firstly, figures are variably displayed on the reels 4L, 4C and 4R (a) to make the figures of the same kind line up on the reels 4C and 4R while being presented different in kind on the reel 4L and the reels are temporarily stopped (b). At this point, the reel 4L presenting the figure different in kind is made invalid on display (c). In this manner, the variable display of the figures on the image display device 4I is started (d). The array 402a of the figures variably displayed on the image display device 4I is selected from many kinds thereof prepared beforehand (e). The degree of expectation for earning big wins depends on the kind of the array selected.
