PURPOSE:To improve a mounting efficiency by setting a movable period of an X-Y table long, and increasing a moving distance of the table in a predeter mined tact time. CONSTITUTION:In an electronic component mounting device for holding an electronic component in an electronic component supply unit by a vertically movable component holder and mounting the component on a circuit board arbitrarily positioned by an X-Y table, a period of interfering possibility of a maximum height of the component mounted on the board and the height of the component held in the holder when the table is moved is calculated based on the maximum height of the component and the height of the component, and only the period is set as a movement inhibiting period of the table to increase the movable period of the table long and to increase the moving distance of the table without increasing a tact time.
