PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a light source device for endoscope which can cope with various endoscopes. SOLUTION: An electronic endoscope device is provided with the light source device (light source device for endoscope) 1 and the endoscope freely attached and detached with respect to the light source device 1. The light source device 1 is constituted of a light source device main body 10, a first-stage signal processing circuit substrate 3 freely attached and detached to the main body 10 and a monitor freely attachable and detachable with respect to the main body 10. The circuit substrate 3 is provided with a substrate 38, and the substrate 38 is provided with a first-stage signal processing circuit 11, a ROM 12, a card edge 13, a scope connector 14 and an aperture for a light guide 15. On the monitor, the ID number of the attached circuit substrate 3, the type of the corresponding endoscope 2, error information and the like are displayed.
