PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To completely eliminate the deficiency of a mechanically driven pump when the mechanically driven pump is directly replaced with an electrically driven pump to use a conventional mechanically driven pump. SOLUTION: In the system, a main pump 12 for feeding a lubricant to a first lubrication position inside an engine and an electrically driven pump controlled by a system control device 16 as an auxiliary lubricant pump 17 for feeding the lubricant to a second lubrication position inside the engine are used. The lubricant is fed to the first lubrication position inside the engine along a main lubricant feed line 13 when used by the main pump 12, and the lubricant is fed to the second lubrication position inside the engine along an auxiliary feed line 22 when operated by the auxiliary lubricant pump 17. The main feed line 13 and the auxiliary feed line 22 are connected to each other via a communication passage P2 having a closable communication valve 23. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
