<p>N-(heterocyclyl)-alkyl-thioureas-selective antihistamines. The compns contain thio-ureas of formula (I): in which A is a divalent radical completing an unsatd. 5- or 6-membered heterocyclic ring, e.g. imidazole pyridine, thiazole or 1,2,4-triazole, X is H, lower alkyl, halogen or lower alkylthio, n is 3-6, and R is H lower alkyl, opt. substd. aryl or aralkyl (excluding benzyl), in combination with a pharmaceutical diluent or carrier. Cpds. of formula (I) in which R = CH3, n = 4, and A completes a 4(5)-imidazolyl, 4-bromo-5-imidazolyl or 2-thiazolyl ring are new. (I) inhibit certain effects of histamine, e.g. stimulation of gastric secretion.</p> |
