A gas and liquid tight pole packing for accumulators or storage batteries has a body of plastics material, in particular of polyethylene or polypropylene, especially for lead accumulators. In order to provide a permanent, gas and liquid tight pole packing under all kinds of varying operational conditions there is provided a cup-shaped structure of the plastics top (2) near the through- opening (3) for the pole (1), a lower layer (5) of a hard casting composition, preferably of an acid- resistant bicomponent resin, on the bottom (4) of the cup, an intermediate layer (6) consisting of a thermoplastic, permanently elastic, acid-resistant plastics, preferably of a hot-melt adhesive, and an upper layer (7) consisting of hard casting composition, preferably of an acid resistant bicomponent resin, on top of the intermediate layer (6). <IMAGE> |
