<p>The mass (1) is raised to successively higher levels by a cable (13) running over pulleys (14) which rotate freely on fixed axes (15), as a float (2) rises with the liq. from a min. level (4) to a max. level (5). When the liq. level begins to fall, the cable coupling (16) is immediately disconnected as the mass (1) is clamped (19) to a vertical rod (20). After the requisite number of elevations the mass (1) is allowed to descend from its uppermost level, drawing a second cable (22) over two pulleys (23) to generate rotational or electrical energy. Two such systems may operate continuously in interconnected basins, the liq. level being at max. in one when at min. in the other. The system may be located at the sea-side.</p> |
