The invention relates to a method enabling the fast and efficient decoration of moulded objects where this decoration does not require precise outlines as in the case of the manufacture of garden furniture from concrete imitating millstone rock. For this purpose, use is made of cloth pads containing powdered metal oxides of different colours which are rubbed on the inside of the silicone elastomer mould. When these moulds are filled with a hydraulic cement-based mix, the oxides are transferred to this mix during the setting process. This method is faster and more convenient than that in which the work is performed directly on the moulded object.
