PURPOSE:To shorten time for inputting and improve efficiency of work by inputting retrieving information from a picture image inputting means instead of inputting from a keyboard. CONSTITUTION:Picture image information inputted from a picture image inputting device 3 is stored in a memory and displayed in a CRT 4. When it is judged by a controlling section 1 that picture image information stored in the memory 6 is of a specified form, retrieving information is extracted from a retrieving information system storing section 9 and written in a retrieving information temporary storage area 6a of the memory 6. In case of retrieving, when a retrieving execution key on a keyboard 5 is operated, all picture image information including retrieving information that coincides with retrieving information written in the retrieving information temporary storage area 6a is extracted from a retrieving information storing section 8 and displayed in the CRT 4. Thereafter, when the number of necessary picture image information is inputted from the keyboard 5, picture image information is written in the memory 6 from an information storing section 7 in the memory 6, and at the same time, displayed in the CRT 4.
