PURPOSE:To obtain information about recording sheets stored in the titled device without opening the lid thereof by providing a sheet information recording means for recording information related to set recording sheets via manual operation. CONSTITUTION:When a switch 17 is operated in case of recording information related to recording sheets, a feed roller pair 11 and a recording part 8 are actuated to carry a recording sheet 4 and information is recorded thereon, including the existence or the nonexistence of a recording sheet fed from a control part, the size and type of a recording sheet as set and what sheet holder retains the sheet of said size and type. And the recorded sheet concerned is cut with a cutter 9 and discharged. Also, the leading end of the recording sheet 4 is returned to a standby position. Therefore, it becomes possible to obtain information about the recording sheets 4 and 5 set in the titled device by looking at the record of the discharged sheet.
