Improvements to devices for producing and discharging extinguishing foams in fire-fighting installations of tanks for hydrocarbons with a floating roof, comprising a series of vertical pipes regularly arranged around the hydrocarbon tank and whose upper free ends are provided with a sprinkler 9, the said pipes being connected to a pressurised water source, with the interposition of means for introducing an emulsifier, characterised in that the sprinklers 9 comprise two nozzles 20, 21 which form an angle between them, and whose free ends are directed towards the floating roof, each nozzle 20, 21 comprising a longitudinal slot 28 in its part opposite its free end, and turned towards the floating roof. <IMAGE>
