PURPOSE:To improve the workability of the titled device by retrieving a specified description character out of inscription characters stored in a memory means and displaying a 'KANA' (Japanese syllabary) corresponding to the character. CONSTITUTION:Inscription characters or the like corresponding to 'KANA' are stored in a memory device, the inscription character specified by an input device 1 is retrieved from the description characters in the device 4 by a retrieving means 6 and 'KANA' corresponding to the description character is outputted to a display device 2.
