<p>PURPOSE:To match characters to be displayed on a display screen with an operator's request by providing a display mechanism part with an expanding/ contracting part and expanding/contracting the characters on the basis of a character specified by a pointing device to display them. CONSTITUTION:A CPU 1 stores a window A e.g. for allows a display memory 4-2 to display a window A e.g. stored in a main storage device 3. The contents, i.e., a part of the window A, of the display memory 4-2 are displayed on a CRT 4-3. When the quantity of information is small for instance, a center character '8' is specified with a light pen 5 and the contracting function of the expanding/contracting part 4-1 to display the characters on the CRT 4-3, and when characters are to be expansively displayed in spite of small quantity of information, an expanding function is driven to display the characters. Thereby, information required for the operator can be easily obtained.</p> |
