PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively acquire the center line of a road. SOLUTION: In the drawing input method, the map data of a sheet drawing on which a topographical map is drawn are read out by a scanner in an image input process 11. Unnecessary small image data of a building or the like out of the read image are removed in an image noise removing process 12. The image obtained after removing noise in the process 12 is vectorized by a batch recognition function in a batch vectorization process 13. Only a two-lane road vector out of the vector data generated by the process 13 are separated and extracted in a succeeding two-lane separation/extraction process 14. An automatic center line generation process 15 automatically generates the center line vector of a two-lane road based on the information on the two-lane road and on the passing paint of the road designated by a two-lone road designating method which information is acquired from the process 14. The center line vector automatically generated by the process 15 is checked and corrected by an interactive correction process 16 and the corrected data are inputted to a data output process 17.
