PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packaging container which takes a flat shape when a cover thereof is opened and efficiently discharges vapor generated from a food stored in the container to the outside, preventing the food from becoming stuffy and in which the cover can be easily closed and the durability of the container can be achieved. SOLUTION: In the packaging container wherein a bottom panel 2 and a cover panel 3 of the same shape as the panel 2 are connected in a row through a connection panel 4, and engaging flaps 5, 6 are connected to free ends of the panels 2, 3 respectively so as to be engaged with each other, and side wall panels 7, 8 are connected to both the side edges of the panel 2, respectively, while cover panels 9, 10 are connected to the opposite side edges of the panel 3, and folding flaps 11, 12 are formed on the opposite edges of the panel 4 so as to be integral to the panels 7, 8 and panels 9, 10, notches 17, 18, 19, 20 are formed on each of the end edges of the panels 7, 8, 9, 10 respectively, so as to correspond to each other. When the container is closed, the notches 17, 18 of the panels 7, 8 are superposed on the notches 19, 20 of the panels 9, 10 respectively so that a degassing through hole 21 is formed in the deepest portions of the notches 17, 18, 19, 20.
