摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new glass melting furnace of high level radioactive waste liquid capable of attaining superior cooling function for bottom electrode and surely preventing deformation of the bottom electrode. SOLUTION: An annular cooling air path 11 is formed so as to surround a flow down hole 3 in the bottom electrode 4 of a furnace body 2 and the cooling air path 11 is partitioned with a partitioning wall 12 into an inner side flow path 13 and an outer side flow path 14. The inner pipe 17 side of the double pipe 15 for supplying and exhausting cooling air is connected to the inner side path 13 and the outer pipe 16 side of the double pipe 15 is connected to the outer side blow path 14. Thus, the bottom electrode 4 is uniformly cooled so that a superior cooling function is attained and deformation of the bottom electrode 4 is surely prevented.
