PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a broadcast receiving apparatus and broadcast receiving method in which convenience for users is improved by effectively utilizing an audio reproducing system when reproducing information acquired from a network. SOLUTION: When switching to video display of a video component in information acquired from a network information network in the state of performing video display and audio reproduction by restoring video signals and audio signals from received broadcast signals, audio reproduction of a broadcast that has been received, is continued. An audio component in the information acquired from the network information network is reproduced in place of the audio signals of the broadcast just while its reproduction is requested.
