Scissors with stamped mono-planar blades - extending as core rods for handles and uses closure stops which slide onto rods to abut blade root

Domestic scissors, are made by using stamped monoplanar metal blades (10), each extending to the rear in the form of a rod (13) which accepts a moulded plastic handle. The handle mouldings are placed after the blades are connected by the axle pin (12). Each blade is contoured to provide a stop face (14A-13D) in the root of the rod and delineating the closure axis (x-x). Stops (20) defining closure, may be formed by annular pieces which slide onto each rod (13) until abutting the stop face, being installed prior to handle mouldings. The stops contact one another at closure, and the arrangement avoids the need to twist the blades in providing stop faces.
