PURPOSE:To execute efficiently cooling of a hot rolled material, and to set it to a proper temperature by constituting so that a width or a thickness of a plate- like water flow can be changed. CONSTITUTION:A fluid pressure cylinder 30 of a cock device 12 is operated, and a slit nozzle 17 is moved to a position for closing up a water drop port 14. Cooling water is fed into a water tank 1 from a feed water pipe 9 and set to a constant water level, the fluid pressure cylinder 30 of the cock device 12 is operated, and when a slit 31 and the water drop port 14 are made to coincide with each other, the cooling water drops through the water drop port 14 from a discharge port 2 and a nozzle-shaped hole 16. In its process, a plate-like drop water flow 28 of a specified thickness is generated, and a strip running in a strip advancing direction A is cooled uniformly in the width direction. A width or a thickness of the plate-like water flow can be changed by changing a shape of its slit nozzle 17. |
