PURPOSE:To provide a fomentation made up of two kinds of liquid containing the alkaline ion extract of a plant and containing its acidic ion extract as the chief ingredients, respectively, intended to activate the tissue through the stimulation due to pH change and the penetrability of said ion species into the tissue, and freed from adverse effects on the skin. CONSTITUTION:The objective fomentation made up of (A) a liquid containing, as the chief ingredient, an alkaline ion extract from a plant, pref. medicinal one (e.g. mugwort, sea trumpet, pine tree) and (B) a second liquid containing, as the chief ingredient, an acidic ion extract from such plant. By making an application of a wet pad cloth using the components A and B alternately, the chemical stimulation due to the pH change will stimulate the sensory receptors and be transmitted via afferent nerve impulse to the center, resulting in activating various body temperature-regulatory functions leading to enhancing heat dissipation and perspiration such as vasodilation, blood stream increase and skin temperature rise, and the living body will prompt the nutrient feeding to the systemic tissue and activation of metabolism with no adverse effects on the skin. |
