PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device capable of displaying stereoscopic display at various positions while suppressing the loss of light.SOLUTION: The display device includes: a positional information acquisition unit that acquires the positional information in regard to the positions of a viewer U; a separation unit 120 that changes the position of an image separator B on the basis of the positional information; an illumination unit 130 that changes the direction of an optical axis AX of illumination light L2 in accordance with the timing of the positional change of the image separator B on the basis of the positional information of the viewer U; and a display unit 110 that displays a plurality of parallax images (a right-eye parallax image R, a left-eye parallax image L) by modulating the illumination light L2.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 17
