PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile body position detection device and method capable of further utilizing the detection result of a current position for driving support by adding information on reliability thereto.SOLUTION: The mobile body position detection device includes: collating a current position obtained on the basis of a result in which the traveling direction and moving distance of a mobile body are accumulated with a current position (corrected current position) corrected by collating the movement locus and road shape of the mobile body to add information on reliability to the corrected current position; or comparing the current position obtained on the basis of the result in which the traveling direction and moving distance of the mobile body are accumulated with a positioning result obtained on the basis of a positioning satellite to add the information on reliability to the current position.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
