An engine cooling structure in which a water jacket surrounds a cylinder liner of a cylinder block forming part of an engine, a coolant-introducing section through which a coolant is introduced into the water jacket is formed in a cylinder block outer peripheral wall constituting an outer periphery of the water jacket, and a water jacket spacer is arranged in the water jacket, wherein
the water jacket spacer is arranged to surround substantially an entire periphery of a portion of the cylinder liner which corresponds to the water jacket, an opening through which the coolant introduced from the coolant-introducing section is introduced to an inner side of the water jacket spacer is formed in a portion of the water jacket spacer which corresponds to the coolant-introducing section, an upper section of the water jacket spacer is positioned close to the cylinder block outer peripheral wall, a coolant passage through which the coolant introduced from the opening is circulated around an outer periphery of an upper portion of the cylinder liner is formed between the upper section of the water jacket spacer and the outer periphery of the upper portion of the cylinder liner, and a lower section of the water jacket spacer is positioned close to the cylinder liner. |
