The bearing further comprises at least two strain sensor probes 18a, 18b, 18c, 18d, 18e attached to a first ring 14 of the bearing 10 where the angular spacing between at least two strain sensor probes is less than the angular spacing between adjacent rolling elements 16. A later embodiment relates to a bearing assembly comprising said bearing, wherein the assembly comprises a data processing means to process signals obtained by the sensors when the bearing is standing still, to derive a static load acting on the bearing.
