PURPOSE:To prevent occurrence of internal fog by incorporating silver halide particles to an internal latent image type silver halide photographic emulsion to such extent that the value of the internal fog measured by a specified condition is below a specified value. CONSTITUTION:The photographic emulsion of this invention is an internal latent image type emulsion having shell/core structure contg. silver halide particles exhibiting <=0.2 internal fog value measured under condition A, where a sample prepd. by coating unsensitized emulsion on polyethylene coated base with 40mg/dm<2> coated silver amt., developing the sample in an internal developing soln. at 20 deg.C for 5min, and measuring the fog density with white light using a densitometer. The internal developing soln. to be used is soln. of 2g N-methyl- p-aminophenol sulfate, 90g sodium sulfite(dry), 8g hydroquinone, 52.5g sodium carbonate monohydrate, 5g potassium bromide, and 0.5g KI, and making up to 1l by adding water. The emulsion has high sensitivity generating low fog. The fluctuation of the sensitivity during storage of the undeveloped sample, and the increase of fog are retarded. |
