a machine tool including a securing device for securing a workpiece; a robot for attaching an unmachined workpiece to the securing device, and detaching a machined workpiece from the securing device; a hand attached to a tip end of an arm of the robot; and a control device for controlling the machine tool, the robot, and the hand; wherein the securing device includes a holding member for holding a workpiece and a holding member drive motor for moving the holding member, and the holding member moves so as to hold or release a workpiece.
