A personal protection suit, and method of removing a personal protection suit, includes the provision of a hood 1. In a first embodiment the hood is selectively for protection against CBRN threats. The hood 1 may be separable from a jacket body 5 by a releasable attachment means 11 (e.g. a hook and loop fastener, zip, buttons or poppers) and has a mask hood seal 2 for sealing with a mask. The hood may store a deployable face mask (60, Fig 8B) within it. In this embodiment the hood 1 can be removed without breaking the seal between the mask and mask hood seal 2 to minimise contamination during donning and doffing. In a second embodiment a method of removing a personal protection suit is provided wherein the releasable attachment means connecting the hood portion to the suit is released and the hood is then pulled forwards from the rear of the suit/the head of the wearer (see Fig 5). |
