1. A method for identifying a patient at risk for experiencing one or more cardiovascular events, comprising:
a) obtaining microvesicles from a blood or blood-derived sample from the patient; b) measuring expression of COX1 in the microvesicles; and c) comparing the expression of COX1 with reference measurements; wherein decreased expression of COX1 in the microvesicles as compared to the reference measurements indicates that the patient is at risk for experiencing one or more cardiovascular events. |
