PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to appropriately consume a toner on a continuous form according to a situation.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus performs printing on a continuous form, and comprising: an image forming part that forms toner images on image carriers; a transfer part that transfers the toner images on the image carriers on a continuous form; a cleaning part that removes a toner present on the surfaces of the image carriers on the downstream of a transfer position; and a control part that controls consumption of a toner forming the toner images on the image carriers. In the toner consumption control, the control part can execute first control of controlling to form first toner images on the image carriers and transfer the images to the continuous form, and second control of controlling to form second toner images on the image carriers and remove the toner with the cleaning part without transferring the images to the continuous form; the control part can select from between the first control and the second control to be operated.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 |
