The invention relates to apparatus for use in the movement of goods and includes a transportable goods storage area or trailer. The trailer can be moved to a position adjacent a platform of lifting apparatus to allow goods to be moved to and from the trailer. At the opening into the trailer a gap exists between the edge of the floor of the trailer and the platform and one or more bridging portions and support means are provided which can be moved to form a bridge between the platform and floor of the trailer. The support means are positioned so as to allow the operation of a door assembly at the opening between open and closed positions. In one embodiment, a tail lift assembly can be provided on the goods storage area which his driven by powered drive means mounted in the good storage area so as not to unduly decrease the available size of the opening. |
