[Class 44] A device for fastening or adjustably limiting the opening of a sliding-sash window comprises a hinge having one wing B secured to the upper sash, the other wing A 'having a tube or slot C through which a headed screw D is slidable. The lower end of the screw engages adjustably in a bracket nut E fixed, to the lower sash. The screw head limits sash movement in one direction and a nut F adjustable along the screw limits opposite movement. Adjustment may be made to hold the window closed. To allow free opening of the window the screw is disengaged from nut E and the wing A folded to an outof-the-way position in which it is retained by engaging the screw in a fixed threaded socket G, Fig. 2. |
