PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve efficiency of biological treatment utilizing predation actions of animalcules and to stabilize treated water quality and sludge reduction effect, by stably maintaining many animalcules in a biological treatment tank utilizing the animalcules in a multistage activated sludge process utilizing the predation actions of animalcules.SOLUTION: Organic waste water is introduced into a first biological treating tank 1 and is biologically treated by bacteria. A first biologically treated water containing dispersed bacteria from the first biological treating tank 1 is fed to a second biological treating tank 2 to obtain a second biologically treated water and the second biologically treated water is subjected to solid-liquid separation. In the second biological treating tank 2, a fluidized bed carrier 2A and a rocking bed carrier 2B are provided as an animalcule holding carrier. |
