A network device according to an embodiment has (A) a receiving unit for receiving, from a terminal device, a command or a combined command and parameter pertaining to a setting for the network device, and (B) a control unit for determining whether or not the command or the combined command and parameter received by the receiving unit satisfies the condition of being a pre-set command or combined command and parameter capable of causing a disruption in communication, and when determined to satisfy this condition, determining whether or not a communication disruption will occur when the command or combined command and parameter is executed, on the basis of the address of the terminal device and the port targeted by the setting by the command or the combined command and parameter, and when determined a communication disruption will occur, asking the terminal device prior to executing the command or combined command and parameter. |
