A method of reflowing handwriting content comprises accepting, in an input overlay application, handwriting ink strokes, determining handwriting units 301, e.g. individual words, sentences or paragraphs, for the handwriting ink strokes; accepting editing input of the handwriting ink strokes; and reformatting the handwriting ink strokes based on the editing input. In reflowing the handwritten text, the individual words, each being a handwriting unit, may be repositioned in the same manner as typed words in a word processor, with one or more words being moved to the next line in response to an insertion of additional text, for example. Reflowing may also be initiated by changing a margin width 303. Block units of the handwritten text, comprising complete paragraphs for example, may be moved vertically as a single unit, in response to insertions or deletions elsewhere in the text. |
