METHOD FOR PRODUCTION OF METALLURGICAL COKE

The invention relates to laminar coking in batch-type furnaces for production of coke for non-ferrous metallurgy. Improved physical, mechanical and performance properties of the produced metallurgical coke for production of non-ferrous metals and lower energy consumption in the coking process are provided by utilisation of feedstock comprising petroleum coking material with a sintering capacity index of 50-60 units and volatile content between 15 and 25% by weight. Coking is performed in twin-flue or crossover-flue ovens with an oven cycle more than 15 h and a subroof temperature 780-790°C.
