AQUEOUS COATING LIQUID FOR COATING INORGANIC FIBER AND INORGANIC FIBER FOR RUBBER REINFORCEMENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous coating liquid for coating an inorganic fiber for use in a hydrogenated nitrile rubber-based belt produced by embedding a glass fiber for rubber reinforcement and to provide a glass fiber for rubber reinforcement using the aqueous coating liquid.SOLUTION: The aqueous coating liquid for coating an inorganic fiber is used for providing a coating layer on an inorganic fiber 2 for rubber reinforcement embedded in a hydrogenated nitrile rubber-based belt 1. The aqueous coating liquid contains (A) a monohydroxybenzene/formaldehyde condensate, (B) a maleimide compound, (C) an acrylonitrile/butadiene copolymer and/or (D) a hydrogenated acrylonitrile/butadiene copolymer. The glass fiber 2 for rubber reinforcement uses the aqueous coating liquid. The aqueous coating liquid for coating an inorganic fiber imparts heat resistance, water resistance and flexibility to the hydrogenated nitrile rubber-based belt 1 and can afford adequate adhesive force even though the glass fiber 2 for rubber reinforcement has no secondary coating layer.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
