[Classes 52 (ii) and 52 (iv)] In a bed such as a camp-bed of the kind comprising longitudinal tubular members, transverse supporting members and a stretched fabric sleeping surface heat insulating means are arranged below the sleeping surface in such a manner as to avoid pressure due to the sleeper being transferred to the heat insulating means. The heat insulating means may comprise air spaces 4, 15 with or without a stuffed cushion 13, the fabric bounding the insulating such as 5, 5a, 14 being secured either permanently or detachably to the margins 2b, either directly or indirectly, of the sleeping surface fabric 2. In a modification the lowest layer 9 of the heat insulation may be metallized to reflect the heat generated by the sleeper's body and a gap provided with holes 10, 11 and covered by a strip 8 may be left unmetallized to permit access of air. The supports 3 for the bed may be telescopic to adjust the tension of the sleeping surface and may be furnished with spring snap means adapted to engage a selected pair of a number of pairs of holes 16. An additional fixing means comprises a nut 27 adapted to clamp the slit end of one of the tubes on to the other tube.
