[Also in Group XXXV] The cover 1 of an accumulator intended for use with a miner's head-lamp encloses a rectifier 3 which is connected to one pole 8 of the accumulator and to a coil 4 connected to the other pole. The sides of the cover are provided with openings 9 which register with an opening passing through the centre of the coil. The coil forms the secondary winding of a transformer and when the accumulator is to be charged a primary winding 10 mounted on a core 11 is applied to the exterior of the cover, as shown in Fig. 3, the core being in two parts to enable it to be passed through the openings 9 and through the winding 4. A fuse 12 may be included in the lamp circuit. |
