<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition well-balancedly improved in low fuel consumption, fracture strength and processability, and to provide a pneumatic tire using the same. <P>SOLUTION: The rubber composition contains: a conjugated dienic polymer obtained by reacting active terminals of a copolymer obtained by polymerizing monomer components containing a conjugated diene compound and a silicon-containing vinyl compound using a polymerization initiator represented by formula (I), with a compound containing a nitrogen atom and/or a silicon atom; and a silica. The content of the conjugated dienic polymer is 25 to 50 mass%. The content of the silica in 100 parts by mass of the rubber component is 40 to 80 parts by mass. In the formula (I), i is 0 or 1; R<SP POS="POST">11</SP>is a 1-100C hydrocarbylene group; R<SP POS="POST">12</SP>and R<SP POS="POST">13</SP>are a hydrocarbyl group which may have a substituent or a trihydrocarbylsilyl group, or are a hydrocabylene group which may have as a heteroatom at least one atom selected from the atom group consisting of a silicon atom, a nitrogen atom and an oxygen atom, while R<SP POS="POST">12</SP>and R<SP POS="POST">13</SP>are bonded to each other; and M is an alkaline metal atom. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
